Celebrating 50 years of GAP /
The Founding Father
Gordon Anderson was born in Viewfield Drive, Bishopbriggs in
March 1919. His parents John and Marion, a house factor and
nurse respectively, had both been previously widowed and
when they married in 1912 had already six children between
them. Gordon also had two older brothers, though tragically
one died as a child and the other in an accident during the
Second World War.
Attending Allan Glen’s School, Gordon grew up to become
a remarkable man, achieving true personal happiness and
incredible business success – all defined by strong moral
values, an enormous sense of fun and a never-ending
enthusiasm for life. By the time of his death in April 1996, aged
77 years, his legacy included three children, grandchildren, a
multi-million pound company - and some of the best party
tricks ever witnessed.
