Celebrating 50 years of GAP /
The real Douglas Anderson
Away from GAP, Douglas’ children and
multiple hobbies have kept him fully
entertained and occupied. For many
years he indulged his passions for flying
planes and helicopters, sailing and
owning several yachts. He also enjoys
a bit of skiing. But his main interest
remains property and is described by
Maureen as “Only happy when he has a
project”, having built several houses.
Douglas is the epitome of fairness,
integrity and moral values. Exhibiting
the driest of humours, he is
unassuming and mild-mannered,
ruffled only by one thing: red tape. As
Iain explains:
Gordon and Douglas Anderson - playing whilst on a Douglas detests red tape, it
summer holiday in the Highlands, 1965.
drives him absolutely bonkers.
He’s had a number of run-ins with
Planning departments in both his
personal life and business. However, he
is seldom defeated!”
