Construction is clearly
in the Anderson DNA.
Although not working for the family business,
Gordon’s daughter Maureen also enjoyed
a successful career in the industry. More
enthusiastic for school than her two younger
brothers, Maureen was awarded Dux of
Westbourne School for Girls. She went on to study
civil engineering at Glasgow University, graduating
in 1975. Initially working as an engineer, Maureen
later moved into teaching, becoming one of the
first female engineering lecturers in Scotland.
